Daydream
My mum always day dreamed. I remember asking her for things and she would be in another world- an absence.
I was reticent as a little girl. I was often in another world, just like my mother. I was conscious I was spiritual; it was part of my growing up life. We talked about dreams and how they joined up the dots in our lives and showed us what we needed to understand. We did tarot cards consulting the other side; spiritual artifacts were all over our house. I believe photography came to me to give me purpose, it gave me access to the spiritual realm and brought me closer to the other side.
This series of work is a day dream a thin veneer between the material and the spiritual and is positioned in neither.
